Kebbi: Sarkin Bunza, Mustapha dies at 84

Mustapha Mohammed Bunza, the Sarki of Bunza town in Kebbi State, is dead.

Bunza died at the age of 84 on Thursday at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.

Born in 1941, Bunza was educated at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He served as the Registrar of the University of Sokoto, now Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, before being appointed as the Director and Chief Executive of the National Teachers' Institute (NTI) in Kaduna.

He held this position for 11 years, succeeding the late Mal. Hafiz Wali, the institute’s pioneer Director.

He has been laid to rest in Bunza, Kebbi State, in accordance with Islamic rites.

In a statement, the current Director and Chief Executive of NTI, Prof. Sadiya Sani Daura, expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the National Teachers' Institute, Kaduna, to Dr. Bunza’s family, the Bunza Emirate, the people of Bunza, and the entire NTI community.

She prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased, grant him Jannah, and give strength to his family, the NTI community and the Bunza Emirate in bearing this irreparable loss.
