Kebbi security operatives rescue abducted FUBK student

Augustine Madubiya, a 400-level student at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), who was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday by unidentified gunmen, has been successfully rescued.

This was confirmed by the Director of Security, Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, in Birnin Kebbi.

In a statement, Zagga revealed that the rescue operation was carried out following explicit directives from Governor Nasir Idris, who instructed all security chiefs in the state to collaborate and act swiftly to ensure the student's safe return.

“I am happy to inform you that the FUBK student abducted yesterday has been successfully rescued through a combined operation by security operatives,”; Zagga stated. “The Governor was firm in his directive that security agencies must swing into action and ensure the student was rescued alive and unharmed.”;

Zagga further assured the public that the student is in good health but is currently undergoing a precautionary medical check-up. He extended his gratitude to the university management, the local community, and the student's family for their patience, support, and prayers during the ordeal.

He also expressed appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris for his unwavering commitment to deploying all available government security resources to secure the student’s release and commended the gallant efforts of the security personnel involved in the operation.
