Upcoming Disney+ drama “Nine Puzzles”; has unveiled new stills of Kim Da Mi!
“Nine Puzzles”; is a mystery thriller that follows the story of profiler Yoon Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), who was the only witness in an unsolved case from 10 years ago, and detective Kim Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who still believes her to be a suspect, as they unearth the secrets of a serial murder case that begins with a mysterious puzzle piece.
Kim Da Mi, known for her versatile roles across various genres, stars as profiler Yoon Yi Na. Yoon Yi Na is the niece of Senior Superintendent Yoon Dong Hoon, who was murdered 10 years ago. She was the only witness to the crime—and also a suspect—but the trauma left her with no memory of what happened.
Still haunted by the fear that she may have killed the only family she had left, Yoon Yi Na becomes a profiler to uncover the truth. With a sharp eye for detail and an exceptional memory, she is able to quickly figure out a culprit's mindset and motive at crime scenes. However, despite her skills, she continues therapy as she struggles with the traumatic memories she cannot recover.
The newly released character stills highlight Yoon Yi Na’s bold style, marked by her short hair, as a profiler who approaches each case with precision. Her intense gaze and serious expression suggest she may have uncovered a key clue, showcasing her sharp instincts.
Kim Da Mi shared why she chose this project, saying, “I was drawn to the uniqueness and fun of the character. She has a brilliant mind, but at the same time, there’s a vulnerability to her.”;
She added, “After witnessing her uncle’s death as a child, I imagined that part of Yi Na’s heart and mind may have been frozen in that moment. I approached the role differently from my previous works, aiming to show glimpses of her childlike side, even though she has grown up.”;
Director Yoon Jong Bin praised Kim Da Mi, remarking, “Yi Na is a bold, straightforward character who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Kim Da Mi was the first actor I thought of, and I thought she could make the character incredibly endearing.”;
The first six episodes of “Nine Puzzles”; will be released on May 21, followed by three more on May 28. The final two episodes will be released on June 4, for a total of 11 episodes.
