The upcoming Disney+ drama “Nine Puzzles”; has new stills ofKim Sung Kyun!
“Nine Puzzles”; is a mystery thriller that follows the story of profiler Yoon Yi Na (Kim Da Mi), who was the only witness in an unsolved case from 10 years ago, and detective Kim Han Saem (Son Suk Ku), who still believes her to be a suspect, as they unearth the secrets of a new serial murder case that begins with a mysterious puzzle piece.
Kim Sung Kyun takes on the role of Yang Jung Ho, the principled and dedicated team leader of the Violent Crimes Unit 2 at the Hangang Police Station. Known for prioritizing hard evidence over assumptions in any situation, Yang Jung Ho is a meticulous investigator who also volunteers at orphanages on his days off and pays sincere respects at victims’ funerals, apologizing for failing to protect them. His integrity and dedication have earned him the deep trust of Kim Han Saem, who affectionately calls him “Batman,”; and the respect of his entire team.
The newly released stills show Yang Jung Ho in a sharp, neatly tailored suit, exuding the charisma and commanding presence expected of a seasoned team leader. His piercing gaze—suggesting a mind constantly questioning every possibility—raises anticipation for how he and his team will tackle the unraveling serial murder case.
Kim Sung Kyun shared, “As I read the script, I couldn’t stop wondering what would happen next. The immersive experience felt like reading a detective novel,”; revealing that the intricately crafted, puzzle-like narrative was what drew him to “Nine Puzzles.”; He also expressed his excitement about reuniting with director Yoon Jong Bin, with whom he worked on his debut project, saying, “There was a healthy sense of tension going into this, since it was my first time working again with director Yoon Jong Bin.”;
Son Suk Ku, who plays a character that shares a special bond with Kim Sung Kyun’s as senior and junior detectives in the Violent Crimes Unit 2, remarked, “Even during emotionally demanding scenes, I had full confidence that things would go well when acting with Kim Sung Kyun.”;
The first six episodes of “Nine Puzzles”; will premiere on May 21, followed by three more on May 28. The final two episodes will be released on June 4, for a total of 11 episodes.
