Horror moment knifeman LUNGES at woman from behind while she fumbles in handbag for her keys on doorstep

THIS is the horror moment a knifeman lunges at a woman from behind at she fumbles for her keys on her doorstep.

Cops are urgently investigating the incident, which was captured on the victim's Ring doorbell.

The footage shows the woman in her 40s returning home shortly after 7pm.

She is seen walking down a flight of stairs towards her front door, carrying a backpack and separate handbag.

As she fumbles in her handbag for her key, a knifeman chillingly emerges behind her – wearing black, with his face covered.

He then proceeds to grab her, wielding a knife.

The events took place in Deptford, southeast , on March 27.

The time of the incident is recorded on the Ring doorbell footage as 7:04pm.

Thankfully, the woman was not injured, the Met has confirmed.

Officers were called to the scene about ten minutes after the incident, and spoke to the victim.

However, no arrests have been made as enquiries continue to identify the culprit.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At around 7:15pm on Thursday, 27 March received reports of an incident outside an address in Deptford.

“A woman in her 40s was approached and threatened with a knife by a man outside her home address.

“Officers attended the scene and spoke with the victim, who wasn’t injured.

“At this time no arrests have been made and the remains ongoing.“
