Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker shocked vocal fry enthusiasts and aging former Zumiez shoppers alike when they got together out of nowhere, and almost immediately started filling Instagram feeds with a million pixels of their love. And since they went public with their relationship just a few months ago, we’ve learned plenty about them. Like that Kourtney’s name is already tattooed on him, that Travis has already established himself as sufficiently tacky and wasteful enough to qualify as a Kardashian boyfriend, and which speed they enjoy thumb sucking (slow n’ gross). Does it feel like we already know too much? Their exes might seem to think so. According to sources, Shanna Moakler (former Miss USA and Travis’ ex-wife) and Scott Disick (Todd Kraines impressionist and the father of Kourtney’s three children) are reportedly both having a tough time watching their exes move on like they are. Still? But I thought Shanna got all that petty drama out of her system and onto social media months ago? Apparently not.
Shanna and Travis were married from 2004 to 2008, and they share three kids together (17-year-old Landon and 15-year-old Alabama, and Atiana, her 22-year-old daughter with Oscar De La Hoya). A source tells People that Shanna doesn’t love seeing her ex-husband making out with the oldest Kardashian sister all over social media and reusing romance moves from their courtship:
“Shanna’s moved on from Travis, but it’s been hurtful that everything he’s doing for Kourtney he did before for her, like the plane flying overhead, the flowers. It’s all exactly the same,” a source close to Moakler, who is dating Matthew Rondeau, tells People.
Travis flew a plane overhead for Kourtney’s 42nd birthday, with the words, “Happy Birthday Kourtney.”
Shanna and Travis are cordial with each other, due to the fact that they share kids and have to be in each other’s lives, but that it still doesn’t feel good for Shanna to watch Travis act like a horny teenager with his girlfriend on IG. To be fair, they both give off midlife crisis vibes.
“Again she’s moved on from Travis and has her own boyfriend and life, but this is just hurtful to her,” says the source of Moakler.
Joining Shanna in the hurt feelings club is apparently Scott, who a source claims is “struggling” with Kourtney’s sudden happiness. He previously claimed that his relationship with Kourtney got in the middle of his relationship with ex-girlfriend Sofia Richie and that she made him choose between Sofia or Kourtney (and Scott chose Kourtney because that’s the “only family” he has). Scott has seen Kourtney with other dudes before, but sources say he didn’t care because he knew they were flings. But Travis isn’t a fling, and that makes him sad:
“With Travis, he is struggling even more. Before Travis, Kourtney’s relationships were never serious. It was more like flings. With Travis, it’s different,” the insider says.
“Scott was pretty shocked when he found out that they are dating, and he can tell that they have moved very quickly,” the source continues. “His kids love Travis, which is also hard for Scott. Kourtney and Travis are like a family with the kids. Scott is having a hard time with this situation.”
The source goes on to say that Scott has “many regrets” over his relationship with Kourtney and that he always believed they’d get back together someday even though he’s currently with 19-year-old Amelia Hamlin.
Shanna and Scott really need to look on the bright side here. Their exes are doing a lot, but they could be doing so much more. Imagine if Keeping Up With The Kardashians was still filming? Shanna and Scott should be saying a prayer to the reality TV gods that they’re not watching this new relationship play out over a six-episode possible-engagement story arc. Where we’d all have to watch the same teaser clip of Kourtney clapping her hands over her mouth and exclaiming, “Oh my god, Travis!“, before it’s finally revealed she wasn’t getting proposed to – she just had gas.
