Lakurawa terrorists kill two Customs officers in Kebbi

Published on March 26, 2025 at 11:49 PM

Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be Lakurawa terrorists, have attacked and killed two Customs officers and a local resident at Bachaka, a border community in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The spokesman for the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the attack on Wednesday.

Abubakar stated that the attack occurred on Tuesday and that the specific unit or formation of the deceased Customs officers was yet to be determined.

“Yes, there was an attack, which resulted in the killing of two as-yet-unidentified Customs officers and one resident of Bachaka village,” he said.

The State Police Commissioner, Sani Bello, who visited the scene, reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to tackling criminal elements.

Bello emphasised that the attackers' actions were a sign of their weakening state due to sustained security operations.

The attack reportedly occurred barely 24 hours after combined security forces neutralised two Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi.
