Nigeria midfielder Christantus Uche has been handed a three-match ban following his dismissal in Getafe's 1-0 defeat to Espanyol last weekend.
Uche was shown a red card in the 60th minute of the encounter for stamping on an opponent.
The centre referee initially issued a yellow card but upgraded it to red after consulting the Video Assistant Referee, VAR.
The 21-year-old approached the centre referee in an aggressive manner and had to be forced off the pitch by his teammates and some members of Getafe staff.
It marked the second time he has been sent off in a league fixture this season.
Uche was not listed for Getafe's loss to Real Madrid on Wednesday.
He will also miss the forthcoming matches against Rayo Vallecano and Valencia.
