LaLiga: Pimienta upbeat Adams will still play for Sevilla this season

Published on April 11, 2025 at 11:07 AM

Sevilla head coach Garcia Pimienta is hopeful that Jerome Adams will return to action before the end of the season.

The LaLiga club confirmed this week that Adams will spend time on the sidelines after sustaining a thigh injury in the club's defeat to Atletico Madrid last weekend.

“I feel really bad for Adams and Rubén. It looks like they’ll be out for several weeks, and we’ll see whether they make it back in time for the end of the season; it all depends on how they progress,” Pimienta told the club's official website.

“The worst thing that can happen to a player is getting injured because they can’t help the team.”

The 25-year-old joined Sevilla from French club Montpellier during the January transfer window.

After making his debut for the club in February, the Nigerian footballer sustained an injury in training, which kept him out of action for around one month.

Adams has been limited to four appearances for the former UEFA Europa League champions.
