The Lebanese Army has announced that it successfully foiled a planned rocket attack targeting Israel, following a security operation in the southern city of Sidon.
In a statement released on Sunday, the army said its forces raided an apartment suspected of being used to stage the attack.
During the operation, security personnel confiscated several rockets and launch pads and arrested multiple suspects believed to be involved in the plot.
The identities of the suspects have not been made public, and the army has not confirmed whether they are affiliated with any known militant groups.
This development comes just days after the Lebanese military disclosed the arrest of Palestinian and Lebanese nationals linked to a March rocket attack on northern Israel.
The army stated its continued efforts to prevent escalation and ensure security along the Lebanese-Israeli border amid ongoing tensions in the region.
