WITH the odds of winning the lottery sitting around 45 million to one, it’s not something Alyssa Mosley ever dreamed would actually happen.
But scooping the jackpot turned her entire life upside down – including spelling the end of her long-term .


Alyssa refuses to share the exact amount she won, she has revealed that buying the golden ticket was a spontaneous decision.
The shock windfall led to her completely re-evaluating her love life, ultimately driving her to call time on her engagement... just three days before she was meant to say ‘I do’.
“I think that my has really changed as a young woman who is able to provide financially for herself,”; she told People.
“You know, sometimes we find ourselves in marriages because it provides stability ... but I just felt that I am not ready to have a family, settle down.
“And I'm not in a place where I need to.”;
Alyssa, who lives in , and was planning to elope in before her big win.
But coming into a healthy bit of money made her realise that marriage is a “trap meant to keep people miserable”;.
“I think it's sort of been spiritual, the things that I've learned about money and fulfillment,”; she said.
“Obviously, money helps to solve problems but it is not going to make your life 1,000% perfect and make every single day an amazing day.”;
“I've had different working experiences and I've been able to understand what it's like before that and after that – so I feel grateful to kind of have that grounding and understanding.
“I'm reading a book called Women Who Run with the Wolves and it basically kind of touches on the history of marriage, and you know it wasn't really based on love.
“That's a pretty new phenomenon – basing a marriage on love – probably the past hundred years.
“But it was more so about assets...and about protecting those things.”;

After calling off her engagement, she has used the money to nurture her passion for fashion and content creation.
“I wake up every day and I thank God for everything that I have,”; she said.
“I find that the more grateful I am for the things that I have, it closes that gap of ‘wanting’.
“So, if I do spend money, I try to do it on hobbies, experiences rather than just physical material things.”;
