Lucifer season 5 part 2 premieres on May 28, 2021, but Lucifer season 6, the final installment, won’t follow behind as closely as you may be hoping.
Sorry, Lucifans! But Lucifer season 6 won’t premiere on Netflix in June 2021, but we can’t really say this is too surprising. It’s very rare for two seasons to be under a month apart. It always seems to be at least six months in between seasons.
Now, there was a time when we believed the final season of Lucifer would have arrived over the summer of 2021, but then the pandemic happened. On the bright side, fans got more seasons than they believed they ever would.
We’ll always be thankful that Netflix saved the series after Fox abruptly canceled it. Then, the plan was to stop at five seasons. Season 5 was split into two parts, and then season 6 was announced! So really, a longer wait for season 6 isn’t so bad.
The question now is when Lucifer season 6 will premiere. Here’s what we know!
Lucifer season 6 release date
The final season of Lucifer will consist of 10 episodes and all are done filming. The cast and crew filmed the remaining episodes of season 5 and all of season 6 back-to-back. This doesn’t mean the episodes are ready to go.
Editing still needs to happen and other behind-the-scenes magic. A great series takes great work, and we’re not complaining. We want the best finale for all the characters.
With season 5 part 2 dropping on May 28, 2021, the arrival of season 6 is anywhere from six months to a year after. Our best guess is early next year to May 2022. Sometime in that window.
It could be earlier, but we doubt it! We don’t really see a new season follow up so quickly behind the former. Hey, this is Lucifer we’re talking about, though, when God and the Devil are involved, anything is possible! Still, we’ll be sure to keep you posted with monthly release date reports!
