Luka Doncic donates $5,000 to help restore Kobe, Gianna Bryant mural

LA Lakers’ Luka Dončić donated $5,000 on Tuesday to help restore a mural depicting Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna.
The mural had been vandalized in downtown Los Angeles.

Located on the side of a building at the corner of 14th and Main streets, the mural shows Bryant holding his 13-year-old daughter, who is holding a basketball, and kissing her on the cheek.

However, the artwork had been defaced with black and white paint.

The mural was created to honor the Hall of Fame basketball player—who won five NBA championships and spent his entire career with the Lakers—and his teenage daughter.

Dončić’s name appeared in the GoFundMe donation list for the mural’s restoration on Tuesday, and his foundation confirmed the contribution.

“Kobe is LA. He and Gigi mean so much to this city, to the Lakers organization, and to me personally,”; Dončić said in a statement provided by the Luka Dončić Foundation.

“I’m happy to do anything to help make sure he and his daughter are honored.”;
