THE M40 has closed after a serious crash with drivers warned to take alternative routes.
Two cars collided on the motorway in Warwickshire this morning (April 11).
Officers have now shut the road between J13 Bishops Tachbrook and J14 Barford – near the Oxfordshire border.
Emergency services raced to the scene just before 7.30am, according to Warwickshire Police.
This included an air ambulance.
An eyewitness told the Oxford Mail: “I heard the thud whilst waiting for RAC but didn't realise what had happened until Highways ran towards it.
“They'd seen it on the way to getting to me.”
