M6 traffic: Vital motorway used by 120,000 drivers per day shuts due to ‘serious crash’ sparking Easter holiday mayhem

A VITAL motorway used by 120,000 drivers per day has been closed following a “serious crash” – sparking Easter mayhem.

The M6 southbound is shut between junction 34 for Lancaster and junction 33 for Galgate.

Traffic has been held on the northbound carriageway to allow the North West Air Ambulance to land.

Diversions are in place southbound.
