THINGS have gone from bad to worst for Married At First Sight Australia couple Adrian and Awhina.

This evening, viewers were left fuming when things kicked off during a pub lunch between the two families.

Fans accused Adrian‘s sisters and his friend of “ganging up” on Awhina, in tense scenes which aired in the latest episode of Married At First Sight.

During the conversation, the groom's family pressed Awhina on the struggles in her relationship with Adrian.

Things took a turn when Awhina pointed out her groom's lack of interest in finding out about her son, something which disappointed her.

Jasmin then responded sharply, and said, “You would hope so,”; a remark that struck a nerve with Awhina’s sister Cleo, who interpreted it as a dig at Awhina’s parenting.

Cleo fiercely defended her sister, leading to a fiery exchange between the two families.

Adrian's sisters and Jasmine could be seen making remarks at Awhina and laughing when she tried to defend herself.

As the argument escalated, Adrian’s family decided they’d had enough, leaving Awhina and Cleo stunned.

However, fans were on the bride's side and they felt she was being “ganged up” on by Adrian's family.

One person raged: “How can these sisters be so awful to Awhina!

“Why are they defending Adrian?”

While another said: “Awhina deserves better than this! Those sisters were horrid to her.”

This one added: “Adrain's sisters and that friend are ganging up on Awhina!

“And poor Cleo! They were awful to her.”

In the wake of the dramatic moment, Awhina later revealed that Jasmin had reached out to apologise for the confrontation.

While the bride appreciated the gesture, she admitted she wished the apology had come sooner.
