MANCHESTER CITY are ready to sign New York City’s 15-year-old left-back Christian McFarlane from their partner club.

Basildon-born McFarlane is being chased by other Premier League clubs and stood out when he represented England Under-16s recently — he is also eligible to play for the United States.

Pep Guardiola recently signed a new contract to keep him at Man City until 2026

NYC have already made him one of the first to get a full-time contract with them but now City are keen to bring him through the ranks.

Man City were recently celebrating the most important deal they could have made – manager Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard’s contract was due to expire at the end of the current season.

But last month it was confirmed he had penned a new deal to stay at the Etihad until 2025.

Speaking about extending his time in Manchester, Guardiola said: said: “I am so pleased to be staying at Manchester City for another two years.

“I can’t say thank you enough to everyone at the club for trusting me. I am happy and comfortable, and I have everything I need to do my job as best as possible.

“I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last ten years, and it will happen in the next ten years because this club is so stable.

“From day one I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a better place.

“I still have the feeling there is more we can achieve together and that is why I want to stay and continue fighting for trophies.”;

Guardiola has won four Premier League titles since arriving in England and is seeking a fifth in six years come the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Man City are five points adrift of Arsenal who lead the way at the top of the table during the World Cup break.
