Now, he has opened up about the reasons as to why he has decided to take some time off the show.

In a new interview, Matt said: “We're just resting that at the moment.

“Dad’s going to be 81 on his birthday and he's thoroughly enjoyed it as we've gone around with the caravan and stuff like that.

“But I've got a little series that's coming out later on in
the year, which is about the British Isles with all the characters and the mix of folk that makes the UK what it is, town and country.”

Confirming it is not the end for his TV career, Matt added: “We've got all sorts of stuff happening in my production company, can't say yet, but I know that we'll be talking soon in the future.”

Flying Eze were the first to reveal earlier this week that the show – which he filmed with his mum and dad – would be coming to an end.

Sources said how the documentary had become increasingly difficult for them to film.

A source said: “Matt, Janice and Mike loved filming the show together, but as time went on they needed to adapt the kind of activities they took on and how far they would travel.

“After filming the most recent series they all felt the demands were becoming a little too much and Matt’s decided to shelve it.

“The show could return but is likely to look different.”;
