MEGHAN Markle is on a crusade to become a billionaire – to secure the jet-set lifestyle she assumed she would have when she married into the Royal Family.

The ex-actress is said to “crave”; the fame that comes with being one of the most recognisable names on the planet.

But the former royal, who rebranded herself as Meghan Sussex and has used Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in a social media post, faces accusations that she is using her royal links to cash in.

It comes after Meghan and Harry signed a $100million five-year Netflix deal in 2021, which includes her recent lifestyle and cookery show.

She is also poised to earn big money from recommending clothes.

Yesterday Meghan, 43, unveiled her latest venture, a podcast called Confessions Of A Female Founder, in which she ­promises to discuss turning “small ideas into billion-dollar businesses”;.

Flying Eze’s revelations come five years after her Megxit agreement with the Palace came into force.

An insider said: “She wants to be a billionaire. She wants a private jet. She wants to live a certain life.”;

Designer freebies

Meg would have expected to hit the jackpot after marrying Harry in 2018.

Although he had savings and an inheritance, the purse strings were held by his father Charles via the Duchy of Cornwall, which handed down around £5million to share between his sons to finance their lifestyle and families.

But when Charles became King in 2022, control of the Duchy funds passed to William — meaning Meghan would have to rely on her brother-in-law for money.

William and Kate, and their children, were all above Harry and Meghan in the royal pecking order.

An insider said: “The assumption is if you marry a Prince of England then you end up with a private jet and the lifestyle she craves.

“But when she realised William and Kate would ultimately be in charge of how much they got in terms of their allowance, she was saying, ‘We gotta get out of here’.”;

There were claims that while she was a working royal, Meghan was disappointed she could not live in Windsor Castle.

She and Harry spent just 18 months between marrying and quitting their royal duties.

They spent £2.5million of tax- payers’ money renovating Frogmore Cottage, a stunning house in Home Park, which adjoins Windsor Castle and was a gift from the late Queen.

They are also said to have welcomed bags of freebies from designer clothing companies while they lived at Kensington Palace.

And they were blasted for preaching on the environment while using private jets, loaned by Elton John and actor Tyler Perry, including four trips in just 11 days in 2019.

Meghan took a private flight to New York, estimated to have cost several hundred thousand pounds, for a lavish baby shower in 2019.

And last year she flew to Jamaica in a private jet belonging to Paramount studios for a film premiere.

Meghan, who even took a private flight during Harry’s beloved Invictus Games this year, leaving him alone for Valentine’s Day, is said to be “determined”; to bag her own jet.

While Harry has regularly criticised Press coverage of the couple, insiders say that Meghan, who starred in TV drama Suits for seven series after years of being a struggling actress, enjoys the limelight and trappings of fame.

Since moving to California five years ago she has signed deals with Netflix and Spotify, and one insider said: “She grew up dreaming of fame so she enjoys the attention.”;

She and Harry splashed out $14million on a home in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, becoming neighbours to Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom and Gwyneth Paltrow, and they have become regular visitors to nearby A-list haunt San Ysidro Ranch.

But living the celebrity California lifestyle does not come cheap, and records show this year they have been hit with a $149,323 property tax bill. They also spend millions a year on security guards.

Meghan has appeared at red-carpet events and as a celebrity guest on Ellen DeGeneres’s and Drew Barrymore’s TV shows.

The craving for billions and a celebrity lifestyle is a far cry from working royals such as William and Kate, who place royal duty and service above celebrity and riches.

For the past two years Meghan has been attempting to market herself as an entrepreneur, with a string of meetings with Netflix execs and her Hollywood agents.

A “conscious business uncoupling”; from Harry means her enterprises are a solo project — but it has not stopped her using her royal links to help boost her profile and coffers.

She has insisted she no longer wants to be called Markle after launching her brand As Ever and Netflix show With Love, Meghan.

In the second episode of her much-derided cookery show she tells actress Mindy Kaling: “It’s so funny you keep saying Meghan Markle, you know I’m Sussex now.”;

She has used Lilibet in the promotional pictures for the As Ever brand.

And she posted a photo of herself with her son and daughter on Instagram while sharing news of her new “clothes shop”; — where she makes money from fans buying items that she recommends.

This project alone could earn her millions of dollars, industry experts predict. Her use of her royal children, who are seventh and eighth in line to the throne, has been described as “tacky”;.

Harry, however, has largely been missing from her business ventures, apart from a fleeting appearance in her cookery TV series. It comes after Meghan has been abandoned by celebrity and media supporters in California.

The Hollywood Reporter mag stunned the Sussexes last September with a scathing article blasting Meghan, claiming she was a “dictator in high heels”;.

And in a story which echoes allegations of her time as a working royal, it claimed she had reduced “grown men to tears”;.

This week former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter described Meghan as “slightly adrift on facts and reality”;, while Spotify executive Bill Simmons famously described the couple as “f***ing grifters”;.

Gwyneth Paltrow is often seen as Meghan’s idol due to the success of her lifestyle brand Goop, and they have been pictured dining together.

But the Hollywood actress recently said of her royal protege: “I’ve met Meghan, who seems really lovely, but I don’t know her at all.

“Maybe I’ll try to get through their security detail and bring them a pie.”;

And some accused Gwyneth of mocking Meghan’s cookery show during a recent online post in which she appeared to be copying the Duchess.

Several US publications have given Meghan’s much-criticised cookery show some unsavoury reviews.

Now she is pinning her hopes of becoming a billionaire and joining the private jet-owning elite on her own business ventures, which tellingly have been hived off from Harry’s.

After being dropped by Spotify she is launching a new podcast on smaller start-up Limonada on April 8.

Promoting her new project yesterday she telegraphed details of her billion-dollar dream.

She said: “I’m Meghan, and this is Confessions Of A Female Founder, a show where I chat with female entrepreneurs and friends about the sleepless nights, the lessons learned and the laser focus that got them to where they are today.

“We’re diving into the highs — and the lows — and the kind of advice that turns small ideas into billion-dollar businesses.

“And of course, we’re going to get some girl talk!”;

The guests, who have yet to be announced, will be women who have created businesses and made megabucks.

As we mark five years from Megxit, the direction of post-royal Meghan Markle is becoming clearer.

And if she gets her way it will be billions in the bank and a personal private jet on speed dial.
