Mighty Mike is currently competing in the Darts Premier League.

But in a revealing Q&A for sponsor Winmau, he revealed a love for all the iconic video game series.

Van Gerwen said: “I enjoy playing on the PlayStation.

“I mostly play one game – Call of Duty. I can't wait for Verdansk to return.

“Everyone here is probably wondering what I'm talking about.

“But all Call of Duty players will know exactly what I mean. Verdansk needs to come back.”

MVG was referring to a popular online map named Verdansk that was removed from Call of Duty in 2001 but is set to return.

Dutch speed skater Kjeld Nuis was paying close attention to Van Gerwen's question-and-answer session.

He immediately dived into the comment section and challenged his fellow countryman to a game.

Nuis wrote in Dutch, with an emoji of a toy gun: “Come play!”

The Green Machine has struggled for form over recent weeks.

He has been dealing with a health problem since January and is struggling to “shake it off”, according to friend Vincent van der Voort.

The PDC star, 49, claimed his fellow Dutchman picked up the illness while on holiday in Thailand.
