Minister orders intelligence-led operation against violence in South-East

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, has commended men of the Nigeria Police Force for repelling an attack on the Zonal Police Headquarters, Zone 13, in Ukpo, Anambra State.

The PUNCH reported that the hoodlums who carried out the attack in the early hours of Monday razed some offices and scores of vehicles.

A police officer, who pleaded anonymity, said the hoodlums were rebuffed from getting into the armoury department of the place.

Reacting to the incident, Dingyadi said he has directed an intelligence-led kinetic operation to neutralise perpetrators of violence in the South-East.

“I commend last night repel of attack on Zone 13, Zonal headquarters Anambra State, leading to recovery of one GMP gun used by the hoodlums. I've directed an intelligence-led kinetic operational to neutralize perpetrators of violence in the South East and elsewhere in Nigeria,” the Minister tweeted. The PUNCH also reported that unknown gunmen on Monday morning razed Uzuakoli Divisional Police Station in Bende LGA of Abia State.
