Mourinho attacks Galatasary coach as Osimhen’s brace secures win

Published on April 02, 2025 at 09:25 PM

Fenerbahce manager José Mourinho could find himself in trouble after he attacked his Galatasaray counterpart, Okan Buruk, on Wednesday night.

The 62-year-old was seen pinching Buruk's nose, causing the Galatasaray boss to collapse onto the pitch.

Mourinho was undoubtedly upset as his team lost 2-1 to their rivals at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup.

Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen scored both goals in the first half to secure the victory.

Sebastian Szymański's goal was merely a consolation.

Tensions flared in the second half as the referee showed three red cards to Fenerbahce’s Mert Hakan YandaÅŸ and Galatasaray's Kerem Demirbay and Barış Alper Yılmaz. This was despite the fact that none of the three players were on the pitch at the time.

However, it was Mourinho who stole the spotlight at full-time as he attacked Buruk.

The former Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham manager was escorted down the tunnel by a member of his coaching staff, while both sets of players rushed to the scene.
