NAF airstrikes decimate terrorist fighters, destroy gun trucks in Timbuktu Triangle

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a series of precision airstrikes, neutralizing key terrorist fighters and destroying multiple gun trucks in the notorious Timbuktu Triangle, a stronghold for insurgents in the North-East.
The airstrikes, executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) over the weekend, targeted a terrorist enclave north of Chiralia.

According to military sources, the operation was based on intelligence from ground troops who tracked three terrorist gun trucks moving from Sabon Gari toward Chiralia.

Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, confirmed the successful operation in a statement on Monday.

“Responding swiftly, NAF fighter jets launched an Air Interdiction (AI) mission, identifying multiple terrorists and their vehicles concealed under trees. Pilots engaged the targets with rockets and cannons, obliterating two gun trucks instantly,” he stated

As insurgents attempted to reposition the third vehicle, a follow-up strike completely destroyed it.

The intense bombardment set all three vehicles ablaze, while dozens of terrorists attempting to flee were neutralized in the attack’s aftermath.

The Nigerian Air Force emphasized that the operation was part of its ongoing efforts to degrade terrorist networks, restrict their movement, and provide crucial air support to ground forces.

Military officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining air superiority in the region, ensuring that insurgents find no safe haven while strengthening security and stability across the North-East.
