The National Association of Niger State Students, NANISS, has expressed deep relief over the safe return of Augustine Madubiya, a 400-level Economics student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, FUBK, after he was abducted by gunmen.

Madubiya was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday, April 8, but was rescued two days later, on Thursday, April 10, following a coordinated operation by security agencies.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the association thanked the Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, for what it described as a prompt and decisive intervention that led to the student’s rescue.

NANISS said the governor’s swift response reflects his administration’s commitment to student welfare and public security.

“This swift and effective response is a testament to the administration’s commitment to the welfare of students,”; the association said.

“We commend Governor Nasir Idris for prioritizing student safety and working closely with security operatives to secure a quick and safe release.”;

NANISS extended its solidarity to the entire FUBK community and advised Niger State students in Kebbi and other parts of the country to remain security-conscious and follow established safety protocols.
