The Nasarawa State Police Command has assured residents of heightened security measures to ensure a peaceful and safe Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state.

In a statement released to journalists on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful as they mark the conclusion of Ramadan.

He urged residents to use the festive period to pray for peace and stability in Nasarawa State and Nigeria.

He stated that to guarantee security before, during, and after the celebrations, the command has deployed over 4,000 police personnel across the state, adding that security coverage will be reinforced at Eid prayer grounds and recreational centers.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit will conduct pre-prayer security sweeps at all Eid locations, and traffic wardens have been positioned to manage vehicular movement.

He also added that tactical teams will conduct highway patrols to ensure travelers' safety. Undercover operatives have been deployed to gather intelligence and counter security threats.

The CP urged residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious, reporting any suspicious activity to the police.

He provided numbers to reach the police for emergencies, stating that the Command Control Room can be reached at: 08112692680, 08037461715.
