The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized large quantities of illicit drugs in multiple raids across Kano and Lagos States, arresting several suspects in the process.

In Kano, operatives arrested Michael Ogundele, 45, at Gadar Tamburawa along the Zaria-Kano road.

A 50-litre steel gas cylinder in his possession was cut open, revealing 50,000 pills of Tramadol (225mg) concealed inside.

Sunday Ogar, 40, was apprehended in Gunduwawa with 27kg of skunk (a potent strain of cannabis), while Khadijah Abdullahi, 40, was arrested with 424 bottles of codeine-based syrup in the Lungun Bulala Yalwa area.

In Lagos, the NDLEA arrested Olumuyiwa Kolawole and Samod Adisa in Mushin with 67.5kg of skunk, while 100.8kg of the same substance was recovered from a store belonging to two fleeing suspects in Anifowoshe, Mushin.

Another suspect, Isah Idris, was arrested in Apapa with 4.5kg of skunk, 600 grams of Tramadol (225mg), and 30 litres of codeine syrup.

In a separate raid, Yahaya Mohamed was arrested in Ikotun with cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi emphasized that the agency continues its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) by engaging schools, markets, motor parks, workplaces, and religious centers across the country.

Sensitization lectures were recently conducted in schools in Lagos, Niger, Anambra, Ekiti, Sokoto, and Adamawa States.
