Niger gov directs security agencies to ensure seamless Eid-el-Fitr celebration

The Niger State Government has instructed security agencies to provide comprehensive security measures throughout the state, ensuring a peaceful and successful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The state Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago gave this directive while addressing the thousands of Muslim faithfuls that gathered for Eid fitr prayer after observing the two rakaat's prayers at the Minna Central Eid prayer ground.

Bago who was represented by his Deputy, Yakubu Garba, emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order during the festivities.

He stressed that the state government will not tolerate any excuses for security breaches, particularly in the state capital, Minna.

He urged security agencies to be vigilant and take all necessary steps to prevent any disruptions during the celebrations.

Additionally, Governor Bago appealed to wealthy individuals to support the less privileged and cautioned youths against engaging in any form of violence or mischief during the celebrations.

He also expressed gratitude to traditional rulers, elders, and stakeholders for their guidance and prayers.

Special Adviser to the Governor, Mohammed Nma Kolo, appreciated the support of Niger residents and pledged that the state government will continue to work towards achieving its vision for a new Niger agenda.

The Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Malam Jibril Isah Imam, congratulated Muslims on witnessing the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and reminded them to apply the lessons learned during Ramadan.

Sallah celebrations in the state has been peaceful throughout the 25 LGs of the state.
