Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff pledges more support for troops’ training

Published on April 03, 2025 at 07:07 PM

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, on Thursday, 3 March 2023, conducted an assessment of ongoing troops' training at the Nigerian Army Training Centre during his working visit to the Centre in Kachia, Kaduna State.

Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, stated that while addressing officers and soldiers at the centre, Lt Gen Oluyede emphasised that, as an integral element of his command philosophy, the Nigerian Army under his leadership places a high premium on troops' training, describing it as a panacea for operational effectiveness and optimisation.

He added that only well-trained personnel would be able to perform optimally when deployed for operations.

The army chief urged the troops to remain focused and dedicated, giving their best during the training and added that they should be prepared to apply their newly acquired skills to make a difference in the field.

He commended the training team for their efficiency in handling the sessions and pledged further support to the training centre to sustain the production of well-trained soldiers for the Nigerian Army. He charged the soldiers to remain disciplined and professional to justify the significant investment in their training.
