Nigeria's currency, the naira, appreciated against the dollar across both official and parallel foreign exchange markets, ending the week on a positive note.

The Central Bank of Nigeria's exchange data showed that the naira strengthened to N1,536.82 per dollar on Friday, up from N1,538.66 traded on Thursday.

This indicates that the naira gained N1.84 on a day-to-day basis at the official FX market.

Similarly, in the black market, the naira appreciated to N1,550 per dollar on Friday, a N10 gain compared to the N1,560 exchanged the previous day.

DAILY POST reports that on Thursday, the naira fell for the third time at the official market but remained stable in the parallel market.

Meanwhile, on a week-on-week basis, the naira depreciated by N7.47 per dollar at the official market, compared to N1,531.19 at the start of the week. However, the naira strengthened by N20 against the dollar over the week in the parallel market.
