NIPOST will no longer disappoint Nigerians — Chairman, PMG

The Board Chairman and Postmaster General of the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, Barrister Issac Kekemeke and Tola Odeyemi, respectively, have vowed that they will redirect the agency on the path of progress to ensure that it will no longer disappoint Nigerians.

Kekemeke and Odeyemi spoke in separate interviews with DAILY POST at NIPOST's management retreat in Abuja on Monday.

Kekemeke, who was appointed in January by President Bola Tinubu, noted that the new management of NIPOST is ready to revamp the agency to serve Nigerians better.

He stressed that he will work with the PMG to get the job done at NIPOST regardless of funding challenges.

“Change has come to NIPOST. The key message here is all of us have resolved to change the narrative in NIPOST.

“We know that over time we have disappointed Nigerians, but after this retreat, we tell Nigerians that we are ready to redirect NIPOST and put it on the path of progress.

“The PMG is ready; I am ready to take NIPOST to greater heights. We will get the job done first before funding. Funding is not the problem. We create the funding,” he said.

Speaking on NIPOST's development drive under her leadership, the PMG, Odeyemi, said the agency is working to take advantage of technology and e-commerce to accelerate growth.

“We are working harder to change NIPOST. With the onboarding of the chairman, we will see an accelerated improvement in an effective NIPOST.

“It is really nothing. It is the political will. My appointment and that of the chairman.

“Mr. President is the champion, the big head in Nigeria. NIPOST is one of the largest enterprises in Nigeria, so we have to dream big.

“As long as there is alignment from the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, chairman, and management, the sky is our limit at NIPOST,” she stated.
