NLO: Usman Kabir suspended for false registration

Published on April 22, 2025 at 01:04 PM

The Nationwide League One (NLO) has suspended Usman Kabir from participating in the 2025 season.

Kabir was accused of previously registering with Mumbiava FC Kano for the 2023 and 2024 seasons under the name Abbati Muhammad Gola.

The player's suspension was announced by the NLO Secretariat, which stated that he provided false information during the registration process with Camp PRO FC.

According to the NLO, the action violates its framework which requires that players' full names (including surnames, other names, and date of birth) be accurately provided during registration.

DAILY POST reports that the 2025 season commenced last week with the clash between Hyperbuzz FC and Likeminds FC in Abuja. The game ended 1-1.

The remaining matchday one fixtures will be played on Wednesday, April 23rd across all designated centres.
