Nottingham Forest vs Man United — Awoniyi targets first EPL start in five months

Published on April 01, 2025 at 01:09 PM

Nigeria forward Taiwo Awoniyi will look to make his first Premier League start for Nottingham Forest against Manchester United at the City Ground on Tuesday (today).

Awoniyi has struggled for regular playing time at Forest this season due to the impressive form of Chris Wood.

Wood has netted 18 times in 29 league appearances for Nuno Espirito Santo's side in the current campaign.

The 33-year-old sustained an injury on international duty last week and is not available for the clash with United.

Awoniyi is expected to lead Forest's attack in the absence of the New Zealand international.

The 28-year-old led the line in the Reds FA Cup win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

He has scored once in precious five league outings against United.
