NPFL: Abia Warriors beat Shooting Stars 3-1 in Umuahia

Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia on Sunday defeated Shooting Stars of Ibadan 3-1 in their crucial Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL encounter.

Adejoh Ojonugwa opened the scoring for the Warriors as early as the 7th minute, while Anthony Ijoma doubled their advantage in the 19th minute.

The second half resumed brightly for the home side, with lethal striker Sunday Megwo finding the net in the 50th minute, sending Abia Warriors' supporters into a frenzy of jubilation.

A.O. Aghahowa pulled one back for Shooting Stars in the 57th minute.

Abia Warriors maintain third position on the NPFL table with 56 points from 35 matches.
