NPFL: Edo Govt commends Bendel Insurance’s performance

Published on April 19, 2025 at 09:29 PM

The Edo State government has praised Bendel Insurance for their impressive performances in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, this season.

Amadin Desmond Enabulele, Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, offered the commendation during an unannounced visit to the team's training session.

Enabulele encouraged the team to aim for a continental spot, given their recent form.

DAILY POST reports that Bendel Insurance has suffered just two defeats in their last 11 matches.

“I’m here for us to discuss the way forward concerning the remaining part of the season, but let me, on behalf of the state government and the Sports Commission, appreciate your efforts so far,” Enabulele stated during his visit.

“The terrible situation we met you in was what prompted our governor to mandate us to motivate you in any way possible to escape relegation. I think we can now look up and see that we have something to fight for. We are fifth, and the second and third positions are achievable if we can work harder, concentrate more, and stir up.

“We should know that the key to continental presence is within our grasp, only if we can aspire and challenge ourselves, now that we are out of the Federation Cup. So, guys, let's fight for the key to the promised land. We are going to motivate you more, so give us what we want, and we will do more.”

Bendel Insurance will face Nasarawa United on Sunday in Benin City.
