NPFL: Plateau United beat Rangers away, Remo Stars extend lead

Holders Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Plateau United in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Matchday 31 fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Thursday.

Plateau United secured the win through a goal from Suleiman Mojereola.

The result dented the Flying Antelopes’ chances of securing a continental spot, while boosting Plateau United’s hopes of avoiding relegation.

League leaders Remo Stars extended their lead at the top of the table with a 2-0 victory over Enyimba in Ikenne.

Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo found the net for Remo Stars.

Meanwhile, in Uyo, Akwa United secured a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes.

The Promise Keepers benefited from an own goal by Ifeanyi Okoye before Mare Abson sealed the victory.
