Published on April 28, 2025 at 11:02 AM

Sunshine Stars technical adviser, Bala Abubakar, says his team will approach the remaining fixtures this season with a winning mentality.

The Owena Waves defeated Katsina United 2-0 at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode on Sunday.

Waheed Adebayo netted a brace to secure victory for Sunshine Stars in the encounter.

Abubakar stated that the team is working hard to avoid relegation.

“Since the last six matches we have told all the players that matches are like a final,” Abubakar told Sunshine Stars media.

“We are going to approach every game with a winning mentality. That mindset is what we are putting in both home and away games.

“We are pushing the team and the players too are fighting to avoid relegation.”

Sunshine Stars remain in 19th position on the table despite the win.
