NPFL: Why Katsina United lost heavily to Ikorodu City — Lukman

Published on April 13, 2025 at 04:38 PM

Katsina United forward, Bello Lukman has attributed their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match day 31 defeat against Ikorodu City to poor travel arrangement.

The Chanji Boys suffered a 6-0 loss to Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena , Onikan Lagos on Thursday.

Lukman on behalf of his teammates apologised for the humiliating defeat

He expressed the players readiness to make up for the loss in their week 33 encounter against Remo Stars in Ikenne.

“We are sorry for the loss, it's not what we planned, the journey to Lagos for the game against Ikorodu City wasn't okay for us, which really affected our performance on the pitch,” Lukman declared.

“We apologise and promise such won't happen again. Our next game is against Remo Stars, we promise to give our best because we have rested enough and we have no excuse.”
