Published on March 29, 2025 at 08:01 AM

Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has disagreed with President Bola Tinubu on his appointment of the All Progressives Congress, APC, spokesman, Felix Morka as the Chairman of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA.

Sani claimed that Morka's appointment would cast aspersions on the contents of NTA, citing his position as the spokesman of the ruling party.

DAILY POST reported that Tinubu had approved the appointment of several officials of the APC, including Morka, and 19 APC state chairmen, as board chairmen of various federal institutions.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

However, in a post on his X handle on Saturday, Sani that the objectivity, image and professionalism of NTA would be questioned more than ever before.

He suggested that the party spokesman should be considered for alternative appointment to save the station.

He said: “The NTA is statutorily owned by the FG. However, appointing the Spokesperson of the ruling party to chair its board would cast aspersions on its contents.

“Its objectivity, image and professionalism would be questioned more than ever before. The party spokesman should be considered for alternative appointment to save the station.”
