Nuclear Program: Agreement must be real, fair – Iran’s Supreme Leader, Khamenei tells US

Iran is seeking a “real and fair” agreement with the United States on its nuclear program, Ali Shamkhani.

A senior aide to the Supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said on Friday, that his country seeks “real and fair” agreement with the United States, US, ahead of Saturday's talks.

The talks between the US and Iran will hold on Saturday in Oman. The talks will centre around Tehran's nuclear program.

US President, Donald Trump had said his country is ready for “direct talks,” while Iran's foreign minister referred to them as “indirect high-level talks” through a mediator.

In March, Trump had written to Khamenei calling for negotiations, while threatening military action if Iran rejected the appeal.

Responding, Iran threatened to expel the United Nations nuclear inspectors, prompting another US warning that such action would be an “escalation.”

However, Shamkhani posted on X: “Far from putting up a show and merely talking in front of the cameras, Tehran is seeking a real and fair agreement, important and implementable proposals are ready.”

Meanwhile, US special envoy, Steve Witkoff will meet with Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi in Oman.
