Nurse stages a sit-in protest at DFS store after furniture giant keeps delaying delivery of her new sofa

A NURSE staged a sit-in protest at furniture giant DFS after they repeatedly failed to deliver her new sofa.

Hannah Senior bought the £1,500 grey fabric power­reclining corner sofa on ­February 4 and was ­promised it would be ­delivered within a few weeks.

The mum of two threw out her old sofa the day of her promised delivery date to make space in the lounge.

But after three failed deliveries, two missed days of work, dozens of calls to a helpline and 11 days of having to sit on the floor, Hannah decided enough was enough.

The 31-year-old marched into the Exeter branch, sat on a ­display sofa by the door and refused to leave without her Aussie Express model.

Hannah told Flying Eze: “I’m so angry. I’ve been telling customers not to buy a sofa from here because my children have been made to sit on the floor for 11 days.

“I’m an agency nurse but I’ve missed two days of work which has cost me £600.

“I’ve got nowhere to sit after a night shift. I thought it was fair to sit in the store because I’ve got nowhere else to sit.

“I told the manager he needs to get me a sofa today and I’m not leaving the store until it’s done.

“It’s not fair, I’ve paid enough for this sofa that I shouldn’t be sitting on the floor.”;

Hannah lives in Lympstone, Devon, with Royal Marine ­husband Tom, 32, and kids Teddy, six and Nancy, two.

She said she warned dozens of customers entering the store about her bad experience and many immediately turned around and walked out.

After several hours of her protest, she was loaned a sofa by the store manager until hers arrived.

Hannah said: “I think the manager was quite embarrassed.

“I’m happy to finally have somewhere to sit but it’s crazy I had to take it this far.”;

DFS had been approached for a comment.

In 2022 Flying Eze told how ­Jessica Glanfield was left fuming after the months-long delay of her £3,000 sofa.

The dog trainer from Stroud, Gloucs, who had already sold their old sofa, had to drag ­garden furniture into their living room just so they would have somewhere to sit down.
