Onitsha businessman, 4 other kidnappers killed in gun battle with police

Published on April 13, 2025 at 01:45 PM

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have neutralized four suspected kidnappers.

The kidnappers were said to have killed their victims.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Edafe Bright made this known in a post on his X handle on Sunday but failed to reveal details of the development.

He, however, said the kidnap gang headed by one businessman in Onitsha, abducted one realtor, Miss Esther Ojoh, and murdered her the following day.

Edafe said the kidnappers “murdered another man and kidnapped his wife and two children”.

“They also kidnapped a medical doctor and collected a ransom of #15,000,000.

“The funniest part is that the gang leader operates a normal business in Onitsha aside from his kidnapping business.

“Now, they are no more when our men of the CP Special Assignment team engaged them.

“Four of them died, and three AK-47 rifles were recovered. May the souls of those they have murdered rest in peace, but for their own, na God go decide that one,” he said.
