OWEN Warner has signed up for his first role since leaving Hollyoaks, and he's back on screen with someone he knows all about working alongside.

That's because Owen, 25, who waved goodbye to his role as Romeo Nightingale in Hollyoaks last year, will be starring alongside Lucy-Jo Hudson, who played his mum Donna Marie-Quinn in the Channel 4 soap.

Posting on her Instagram stories Lucy-Jo writes: “Filming something special today with my old mate @owenwarner”, which Owen has also shared to his Instagram stories.

Although the name of their new project is yet to be revealed it has been confirmed as a short film which is being shot in Liverpool.

Lucy, is best known for her role as Katy Harris in Coronation Street, was previously married to Corrie and I'm A Celebrity star Alan Halsall, with who she shares daughter Sienna, 11.

The 41-year-old recently confirmed she'd signed up to a new project, which she joked was much-needed after ‘taking out a loan to feed children during the summer holidays‘.

Last month she confirmed her new project, telling fans: “Oh have I been dying to tell you this....

“Remember that face to face casting I had a couple of weeks ago? Well I only went and got the job.

“Ahhhhhhhhh I can’t believe it!!!! I am absolutely buzzing!!!! I honestly can’t believe it.... I am still in shock..... but so blumming happy I can’t tell you.... I am so grateful that I still get to do what I love to do.

“Thankyou for all the gorgeous messages from the last post I did about this “face to face casting”; it meant the world to me.

“So I just wanted to share thisnewswith you, not sure if can tell you what it is yet, but as soon as I can I will.”

Owen, who starred in Hollyoaks for six years and also appeared in the 2022 series of I'm A Celebrity, when he came second to former footballer Jill Scott, and called leaving Hollyoaks “a really sad thing to do”.

He also admitted that “like every actor” he was “considering Hollywood but I’m not under any illusion”.

Tending to appear on Hollyoaks shirtless, Owen also joked that he was having to get used to being fully-clothed again.

He said: “Yeah, to be honest it feels weird not taking my top off every few seconds now.

“I might have to start walking in public and just whip it off to get some normality.”;
