BRITISH parents get through 5,238 baby wipes, 3,365 nappies – and only sleep for an average of four hours a night during their baby's first year.
A survey of 1,000 parents who had a child in the last 10 years found they also took a whopping 6,689 photos of their new arrival within their first year â averaging just over 18 per day.


They also received 13 gifts from loved ones or colleagues and received eight pieces of unwanted advice.
It also emerged 71 per cent were surprised that their baby needed so much stuff when they were a newborn.
A spokesperson for Asda, which commissioned the study to highlight its Baby Event which offers up to 50 per cent off on key essentials until Sunday 11th May, said: “It's amazing what you can get through in just one year.
“From baby wipes and nappies to breast pads and dummies â there is so much a new parent has to think about.”;
The research also found new parents spent each month, £205 on baby clothes and £56 on baby wipes.
While they splashed out on toys and books for their little one’s development.
Encouragingly, 75 per cent felt prepared for their baby’s arrival and were confident they had everything they needed.
With nappies (84 per cent), baby wipes (80 per cent) and dummies (38 per cent) the top things parents couldn’t live without.
And 13 per cent admitted they would have been lost without car seat cleaner, as well as concealer (six per cent) and hairspray (seven per cent).
Although 71 per cent claim their first few months with the newborn was a blur, according to the stats by OnePoll.
The spokesperson from Asda added: “It’s great to see so many parents were fully prepared for their new arrival.
“We know the list of what a new baby needs can feel endless (and expensive) so our focus through our Baby Event is to make sure parents have access to everything they need at prices which don’t break the bank.”;
