Petrol tanker kills woman, child in Delta

A petrol tanker has reportedly killed a woman and her child in Delta State.

The tanker also wounded other persons, just it destroyed properties worth millions of naira.

The incident occurred yesterday evening along Ubeji/Egbokodo Road by Ayiri junction when the woman was returning with her child from school, where she went to pick them.

DAILY POST learnt that the tanker which was on a very high speed, failed brake and veered off the the road.

In the process, the tanker killed the woman and her child who were standing at a corner waiting to cross over the road.

When contacted for comments, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the report in a telephone chat with our correspondent in Warri.

The Police image maker explained: “only two deaths; others are receiving treatment.”
