Published on April 22, 2025 at 09:12 PM

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested one Rabiu Muhammad in connection with the murder of an 18-year-old commercial motorcycle operator, Dahiru Tanimu. The victim's body was discovered in a bush in Kawara village, located in the Maiyama Local Government Area.

According to a statement released on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the incident came to light after the father of the deceased reported to the Maiyama Divisional Police Station that his son had failed to return home after going out for his daily commercial activity.

Following the complaint, a police team was deployed to investigate the matter. Their efforts led to the arrest of Muhammad, who was reportedly found in possession of the victim’s stolen motorcycle.

Commissioner of Police Bello M. Sani has since ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough probe.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ensuring justice is served and commended the officers involved in the swift apprehension of the suspect.

“We commend the untiring efforts of our officers in the field for making it hot for criminal elements lurking in the state,”; Sani stated.

He further urged residents of Kebbi State to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies by providing timely and accurate information that could help prevent and resolve crimes.

Investigations are ongoing, and the police have assured the public that all legal procedures will be followed to ensure accountability in the case.
