Police investigate murder of returnee from Ghana in Delta Guest House

Published on March 29, 2025 at 09:41 AM

A man simply identified as Kome Emamede, who recently returned from Ghana, has been allegedly killed at Liberty Guest House on Arubayi Street, Warri, Delta State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, March 26, DAILY POST can report.

It was learnt that after the man, a native of Emevo Community in Isoko South Local Government Area, was brutally murdered, workers at the guest house pushed his corpse over the fence and fled the area when it was noticed by people.

It was gathered that the deceased was wearing only his boxers and wristwatch when his family arrived at the scene.

At the time of this report, policemen from the Nigeria Police Force “B” Division have recovered his phones and other valuables from the room where he lodged at the guest house.

The owner of the hotel and other suspects have been arrested.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, is yet to answer calls or respond to text and WhatsApp messages sent to him for confirmation.

Meanwhile, a human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, stated on his Facebook page: “Till now, the police haven't come up with any reasonable explanations from the suspects as to the killing of Mr Kome, who relocated from Ghana back to Nigeria, rented a house at Egbo, Ughelli South LGA, while living a peaceful life.

“We are sensing a cover-up. I cannot post the very strange sight of his corpse here, with various degrees of injuries, but the full video of the incident drops tomorrow.”
