Yobe State Police Command said its operatives have arrested two suspected kidnappers operating in Dapchi and Tarmuwa local government areas of the state.

The command, in a statement through its Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, made this known on Wednesday.

“The suspects have been linked to several crimes, including attack on Badegana Village on November 21, 2024, where the gang launched an attack on a victim's house, resulting in a fatality.
“On March 10, 2025, the suspects forcefully collected N250,000 from Kudi Ibrahim of Askuwari Village, Tarmuwa LGA, after threatening to abduct or kill him. They have confessed to their crimes, and investigation is ongoing at the State Investigation Department,” the command disclosed.

A Dane gun was recovered from the suspects.

Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, has ordered further efforts to arrest other syndicate members and urged the community to provide credible information to aid the investigation.
