Published on March 30, 2025 at 08:37 PM

The Lagos State Police Command on Sunday announced that its operatives had rescued two kidnap victims and launched a manhunt for their abductors.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this in a statement issued in Lagos.

Hundeyin stated that the suspected kidnappers abducted the victims on Wednesday at Ijede, in the Ikorodu area of the state.

According to him, the command “received information that some kidnappers invaded the Ijede community and kidnapped two people.”

He explained that upon receiving the report, operatives were mobilised to the scene, where it was discovered that the criminals had forcefully entered the house of a 40-year-old man, killed his dog, and kidnapped him.

“The kidnappers also forced their way into a nearby house and abducted the landlord’s 25-year-old daughter,”; he added.

The police PRO stated that the victims were rescued on Saturday, 29 March, by the police and a joint task force.
