I’m a barber to Premier League stars… a Chelsea legend would fly me 5,500 miles to China for a haircut every month

FOOTBALLERS that have won World Cups and Champions Leagues are always a cut above.

Players with glittering trophy cabinets need a high-quality finish with their haircut and when they are through on goal.

That is why the Premier League's best rely on barber Senyo to ensure they look just as good as their performances on the pitch.

Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount are just some of the star-studded names to call him when they need a trim.

Senyo's Homme XY shop is located on London's iconic Portabello Road and he uses his own brand's grooming products on his clients.

A luxury appointment is worth £65 or get the VIP treatment with a home visit for £250.

Before opening his own place, Senyo worked for another West London barber, cutting the hair of Ryan Bertrand and Scott Sinclair when they were in Chelsea‘s academy.

Recommendations have grown his business and he is now the go-to guy for Blues and other Prem players.

Away from visiting footballer's houses, Senyo has been invited by Arsenal and Manchester United players to their pre-season tours of the US and to Germany for Euro 2024.

Chelsea legend Ramires even used to fly him 5,500 miles from London to China every month just for a haircut after he signed for Jiangsu in 2016.

Senyo told SunSport: “I used to fly to China quite often when Rami was there. That was all the time. At least once a month, sometimes twice a month. It was a three or four-day trip.

“People didn't understand it. But you know when you're quite particular about the person who cuts your hair, sometimes it is impossible to just get anyone to do it.

“It is the relationship you build with these boys, the trust that you build, once they recommend you that means that you're official.

“I met Rami as his nanny used to bring in his son to get his haircut, I didn't know it was Rami's son at the time and one day the nanny asked if I do home visits. I said, ‘yeah, no problem'.

“I turned up to the house and Rami opened the door. I just couldn't believe it.

“From then I did Willian and Oscar, I was quite familiar with all the Brazilian players because they used to hang around with each other.”

But jet-setting around the world has not always been Senyo's way of life, explaining: “I used to work in the barber shop the whole week and go home with like £30.

“These are the things you need to do. It's part of the journey because if it was that easy, I wouldn't appreciate having my own shop now.”

Senyo also lifted the lid on the conversations he has with players, revealing: “They're in a safe space, so we can talk about whatever we want, whether it's family or anything.

“It's definitely not always about football but sometimes we're watching football on the TV together.”

His list of clients is ever-growing and his dream would be to style Cristiano Ronaldo or David Beckham.

He said: “David is a style icon. The icon of football. He is definitely the top of the food chain when it comes to who I'd like to cut.

“The first thing I see when I see anyone is their haircut. I always think what I can do to their hair.

“Every first trim is a bit unknown but it's not about the person, it's just about the trim.

“Once you do the trim and you know their head, how the hair falls, it is simple.”
