‘Run don’t walk’ – Primark home staple slashed to 50p in sale and it’s perfect for Mother’s Day

MOTHER'S Day is just around the corner and it's the perfect time to celebrate the mums in our lives.

But if you haven't picked up a gift yet there are some brilliant bargains out there.

And Primark has one fantastic buy that will definitely not break the bank – and keep mum smiling.

Mothering Sunday is marked this weekend.

It originates from the Middle Ages when a custom developed of allowing people who had moved away from home to head back and visit their ‘mother' church, as well as their actual mums, on the fourth Sunday of Lent.

Although it's often called Mother's Day in the UK, it has no connection with the US version of Mother's Day.

Now the occasion is used to shower hard-working mums with affection and presents.

And for those who haven't yet picked up a pressie, Primark in Dundee has this stunning peony blossom candle reduced to just 50p.

The pretty little gift, which was £1, burns for up to 16 hours.

It smells lovely, with a heady floral scent.

And peony is ideal for the occasion as the flower symbolises love and honour – perfect for mother's day.

Primark says: “The soft, floral aroma of peony and blossom creates a serene and inviting atmosphere, perfect for relaxing or enhancing your home’s ambience.
